Ed Wiederstein

Ed Wiederstein is a livestock and grain farmer from Audubon, Iowa. Ed has been active in his community and throughout Iowa ever since he served as the State President of FFA while in college at Iowa State University. From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Wiederstein served as the President of the Iowa Farm Bureau. While serving as President, he worked to increase the visibility of the Farm Bureau’s activities as well as developing members and youth for leadership skills and success in their communities. Mr. Wiederstein worked to establish the Ag Leadership Institute, an intensive leadership-training course to empower community members all over the state.

After his service as the President of the Iowa Farm Bureau, Mr. Wiederstein also served as the Chairman of the Iowa FFA Enrichment Center Capital Campaign. In 2007, the Enrichment Center, located at the Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, opened to empower and train the future leaders of Iowa communities.

Mr. Wiederstein and his wife Nicki live and work on his family farm in Audubon that his family has operated since 1879. He has a passion for their eight grandchildren and his purebred herd of Angus cattle and continues to strive to serve his community and state.
