Lake Co. Commission approves permits for Dakota Access pipeline

The Lake County Commission approved boring permits and access points for the Dakota Access pipeline in the county. Highway Superintendent Dave Fedeler told county commissioners Tuesday that Dakota Access is requesting boring permits for roads in seven different locations in the county.

Along with the seven locations for boring, the pipeline also requested permanent access or approaches at two different locations.  Commissioners approved those requests as well on Tuesday.

Fedeler said he’s waiting to hear from the pipeline also about the equipment and routes that they plan to use.

Fedeler said a deputy sheriff has driven the proposed routes that the pipeline will be hauling loads on and videotaped it so that the county has a base to go by if there is any damage to the roads.
